A man is haunted by visions of women who show him the cruelty of what
he calls real life & who might be beings from a cyber-netherworld or
elemental spirits. These spirits - 12 Earth Spirits, as they call
themselves, lead him on a journey to his own past & even beyond
that, to the dawn of mankind, when he was the firsst man, while the
spirits, merged into one body, were the first woman, Mago, &
together they had the offspring called mankind. This paradise is
destroyed though when the red grape is discovered, meaning the
introduction of violence into the world. Soon the women lose their
powers, the Earth- or Mago-Spirits leave their hosts & chaos
prevails. But now the Mago Spirits have come back & they want to
reclaim the world. Since all the women our hero has encountered in his
past, though, were incarnations of the Mago Spirits, he can prevent an
allout war between men & Magos when he comes clean with his own
past. Pretentious esoteric movie that substitutes a real plot
with heavy-handed spiritual gobbledigook that takes itself way too
seriously to actually realize how little substance it has, let alone
orignality - it doesn't even shy away from such dusted clichés as to
equating love & feminity, & violence & masculinity. That the
direction does show all the unsubtleties of a fast food music video
(yes, there's some singing involved, with very bad lyrics) doesn't help
the movie one bit, either. By the way, in the first half,
there's much topless female nudity that makes the film look like an
esoteric nudie-cutie - now that's a first.
