Model Joyce Loman (Marlyn Mason) spots a holiday romance during a
photoshoot, but loses sight of him again - and thus hires private
investigator Mannix (Mike Connors) to track him down). Mannix soon finds
out the person in question is Ramon Verona (Donnelly Rhodes), a hitman
from Costa Verde who has come to the USA to kill Lazaro Figuera
(Henry Calvin), a rich businessman from that country ... and for some
reason, he now wants to shoot Joyce as well. Then he seems to have a
change of heart, hooks up with Joyce again and uses her as a means to get
to a venue she models at which Figuera is attending. And he manages to
shoot Figuera dead, too, then tries to get out of the place with Joyce's
help - but of course, Mannix manages to shoot him dead in the end. B-movie
veteran Dick Miller has a very small role as photographer. I
don't get the story, I'm afraid to say: Why does Joyce hire a private eye
to have a holiday romance tracked down? Why is that man trying to kill
her, when only minutes later he wants to use her to get to his target? And
why is Mannix, who has all the information when he needs it, so damn
uneffective? Simply put, this is a really badly written piece of crime
television that seems to not have been thought through at all - and since
this episode has no other redeeming values, there is no reason to watch
it.
