After years away, Michael (Thomas Vallieres) returns home and his best
friend from back when Edward (Kristian Hodko) throws a party for him. With
all the time passed though, Michael knows none of the other guests, but
Edward has a few drinking games up his sleeve that are not only to tear
down walls but are also quite a bit cheeky and sexually charged - both in
the opposite-sex and the same-sex way. And reserved as he is, these games
ultimately help Michael to score with cute Teegan (Zoé De Grand Maison) -
but while having sex, Michael can't stop fantasizing about the male guests
at the party ... No matter what your thoughts about sexual
fluidity (or fluid sexuality?) are, Morning After is a film that
allows you to take something home from it thanks to its very positive
approach to its central topic that is as light-footed as likeable and
doesn't try to hammer its point across, instead focuses on the positive
vibes of its story - and feeds off them very well indeed. And thanks to a
suitably subtle directorial effort and an attractive and relateable cast
this works to near perfection!
