After her top assassin (Marit Thoresen) is killed on duty - meaning seducing
& killing a man) Madam M (Almen Wong Pu-Ha) kidnaps no less than 40 girls,
all aged 12 to 13, all skilled in martial arts, to train them in the arts of
seduction & assassination, so that at the end of this training cyckle she
can come up with one new female killer.
6 years later the girls are all skilled in both combat trained by
drill-instructor Augustin Aguerreberry) and walking the catwalk, & now it
comes to a series of ultimate tests: first Madame M forces them to kill their
respective colleagues in their sleeping quarters in no more than 2 minutes - in
order to find out who's ruthless enough & whose instincts are good enough
to stay alive. Then she pits the remaining 10 girls in a cage fight to the
death against each other, to get the ultimate killing machine ... but she has
not accounted for the deep & caring friendship of 2 of her trainees, Katt
(Anya) & Charlene (Maggie Q), who, despite knowing only one of them would
stay alive in the end, don't stop caring for each other. impressed by such
teamwork, Madam M lets them both live - &, as an extra bonus, Jing (Jewel
Lee), who is just ruthless enough to become the top assassin. To
celebrate the occasion, Madam M invites the 3 girls to dinner - where she has
them drugged & raped, just to make sure they hate men enough to kill them
after sex ...
In the following months, the 3 girls kill quite a number of rich &
prominent men, & their notoriety rises to a point where the CIA assigns
agent Jack Chen (Daniel Wu) especially to this case. Jack is soon able to link
the kidnappings from 6 years ago to the killing girls, & can even trace
down Mrs Ching (Cheng Pei-Pei), the mother of Charlene, whom he tries to win
over in order that she betrays her daughter to the CIA - but she can't &
won't. When she, at the dragon boat festival, witnesses her own daughter kill a
man though, she reconsiders.
Jack meanwhile has even almost caught Charlene himself, when they get locked
up in a freezeing truck, & instead of mortal combat tender romance begins
to prosper ...
In the meantime though, Madam M has decided that Mrs Ching might
beconme a liability - & sends Jing to kill her, & only timely
intervention by both Jack & Charlene - who eventually kills Jing - can
prevent the worst.
Having quite a change of heart, Madam M decides to let Katt & Charlene
go provided they take on one more assignment - but little does any of them know
that this assignment is a trap set by Japanese gangster Ryuichi (Andrew Lin),
out for revenge for the murder of one of his associates.
So, when Katt & Charlene arrive at the scene of the prospected kill,
they instead find Madam M dead, & are soon surrounded by Ryuichi & his
goons. Katt is captured, but Charlene manages to escape, but is rugged by some
aphrodisiac - which causes her to have sex on the beach with Jack.
When she returns for the final duel with Ryuichi, she first has to
helplessly witness Katt being killed, before she & Ryuichi embark on a
massive, hand-on-hand combat, where Charlene can beat her opponent only
eventually, & come out of it more dead than alive ...
But is there hope for the romance of Charlene & Jack ? Who knows ...
Despite impressive, perfectly choreographed fights & gorgeous girls in
sexy outfits ... this movie just doesn't really take off. Part of the reason
might be that the movie is a bit too slick, too perfectly (& impersonally)
made for its own good, taking itself way too seriously regarding the rather
silly story that has quite a number of plotholes along the way. But what is
perhaps most disappointing is, in spite of the title, there is
surprisingly little actual nudity in the movie & the sleazy aspects of the
story are generally downplayed (& there are many, as you might have noticed
from my synopsis, which reads a little like a Jess Franco-movie in the first
place). Most probably, this film would have greatly profited from more
spontaneity, and some schoolboy's fantasy let loose.
