Now true, a feature film about a necrophiliac fighting killer gimps or
the like would have been fun, and in that light it's almost unfortunate
that Necrophiliac & The Killer Gimps is an anthology - but only
almost, as this is a film that has something to offer for almost everyone
(everyone who's into horror at least), short vignettes lasting no more
than a minute as well as shorts that offer very skeletal stories, about
masked killers, ghosts, things that go bump at night, stories that usually
end in murder, and the film also offers a few longer episodes, like the
one about the pregnant necrophiliac (Sammie Lei) whose condition makes her
rethink her predilections, a couple of policemen walking into a trap set
up by the psycho killer they're after, a pregnant woman getting raped and
killed by ... well, you'd never guess, and a filmmaker (Jason Impey)
finding himself on the kill list of the deceased gimp he's shooting a film
about. Now sure, this movie's a bit on the episodic side, and
despite all the episodes have similar themes, it sometimes feels
incoherent ... but that also works for the movie, as it seems to offer
something for every taste - from found footage to atmospheric horror to
decidedly gory stuff -, plus it's clear that the filmmakers do know their
stuff, and have a feel for the macabre ... and at least genre fans are
bound to find plenty to like in this one!
