The Ojibway Switchback (Jay Winger) is a top-of-the-drawer gigolo
making the most of his native American heritage in order for maximum
profits. But he's also too cool for his own game so he doesn't see the
danger inherent in his next assignment his madam (Lauren Gottlieb) has
booked him on ... The Ojibway Switchback is a rather
cool throwback to yesteryear's grindhouse cinema, mirrored in its
directness, its colour-chart, its washed out and spliced look, its
costumes and props and last but not least its skeletal story. And talking
about story, sure the film is a bit meagre on the narrative side of
things, but given its less than 6 minutes running times, it just works
out. It would have been fun though to see the story unfolding in a bit
more detail and over a longer running time - but of course, this being an
entry in a 24 Hour Film Challenge, the chances for this were slim
to begin with ...
