Brian (Yuval David) has bought himself a plastic doll as an, erm, boost
for his sex life, and naturally it arrives exactly the day some friends
are coming over for an impromptu all-night party, and he blows it up just
when his flatmate Steve (Keith Kingbay) catches him red-handed (or is it
red-headed?). Now Steve finds it very funny placing the plastic doll
prominently on the couch for all guests to see, and at first, everybody is
(or pretends to be) shocked ... but the more alcohol comes into play, the
more the doll turns into the perfect listener, the perfect device for
party games, the perfect lover (for both sexes), and even the perfect
buddy to stand by you when you puke. But despite everything, she's
just a plastic doll, and when the party's over, who gives a fuck ...
but is she? For those of us (as in all of us) who have partied
hard at one (or two or three) point in their lives, Plastic is
pretty much the perfect mirror - and that's an accomplishment all by
itself because the movie doesn't exaggerate or become moronic or believes
showing twenty-somethings roaringly drunk is already funny enough (it
never is by the way) - no, it really goes for character ... with the
little distinction that the one character with real depth, the one
character we care about, is actually a plastic sex doll. And thus,
without having any blunt punchlines, this short is just hilarious as heck!
