Cecily (Angela Field) has always been a girl as virtual as they come -
but then to cover her father's gambling debts, she's sold to Lord (Cedric
Kent), initially to serve in the household but mainly as a sexual
plaything for Lady Hamilton (Cyndee Summers), something that Cecily learns
to enjoy rather quickly. Still, she makes an attempt to escape that lands
her with depraved Countess Quade (Lacy Stewart, whose constant sexual
abuse makes her try another escape - which ends her in a dungeon where
she's tortured and loses her vifginity in a gangrape, after which she's
retiurned to the Coutness and forced to put on sex shows in front of (and
sometimes with) the Countess's guests ... In a way, one just
have to love Poor Cecily for its straightforwardness - while not
going all out in terms of pornography, the film most certainly leaves
little to the imagination. And what's also admirable is that it how the
movie tries to go full period piece mostly via lighting and big wigs. But
with these two components combined, the film clashes somewhat, as the
film's off-screen narration by its titular character doesn't always match
the on-screen goings-on and are sometimes at odds even. Also some of the
sex scenes seem to be a bit mechanical, as if the actors and/or crew
weren't entirely comfortable with the sleaze they were doing - but all of
this results in a very enjoable piece of erotic nostalgia nevertheless.
