After her grandpa (Tom Wooler), a former famous TV ventriloquist, got
killed in a bizarre incident involving his puppet, the very same puppet is
handed over to Casey (Erica Slider) - and as soon as she receives it,
people, mostly her friends, start dying left and right. Her boyfriend
James (Andrew M.Rose) soon comes to the conclusion that Casey herself is
behind all these killings, and even though this is a horrible thing to say
about one's girlfriend, one can't really blame him, since Casey claims
it's all her grandpa's puppet's doing. Mad as this sounds, she's right of
course, because the puppet is really in league with the devil and has
promised gramps instant success in exchange for his and his descendants'
souls - so now the puppet is after Casey. It all ends with Casey being
arrested and thrown into a padded cell, but the puppet lives to see
another day ... One of these low budget indie slashers that
have all sorts of technical issues, and are a bit too underfunded compared
to what they are trying to achieve - and yet you can't help liking the
film, at least to a degree, basically because it tries to be different,
bring some humour into its tried and true story, goes for originality at
least sometimes, and dares to steer clear of a traditional genre ending. That
all said, it's by no means a perfect film, but it's fun, and it leaves you
hoping the director will some day make another movie ...
