The Roar is a film every artist - heck, every person with
artistic ambitions - will be able to relate to: Here's a boy with an
artistic streak, and while it might be at first admired, it's soon
supressed by his peers and he's told to have a career, a career that,
while it might be successful on the surface, leaves the by now grown-up
boy empty, drives him to do things he never even wanted to do ... until he
witnesses the roar from within, the roar that eventually (at least
hopefully) gets so loud that he just has to take his artistic child take
over again ... The Roar might tell an age-old story
(even if a very true one), but the way it does it is quite unique, via the
means of music, of painting, of dance ... and of course of inventive
filmmaking - all leading up to a really beautiful and really touching
piece of art. Totally recommended!
