Satan's Slaves

There is a graveyard where something supernatural - and not the good
kind of supernatural - happens every 29 years. And wouldn't you know it,
another 29th anniversary is around the corner, and the local chief of
police is worried, as there are already signs - like the dead having risen
from their graves - that something's about to happen. And what's worse, an
apartment building has been built on the grounds of the cemetary during
the last 29 years. But since an international conference is currently
under way, the chief of police is ordered to hush things up - so the best
thing he can do is leak the information to a journalist friend, Budiman
(Egy Fedly). Budiman wants to warn the residents of the building, but a
heavy storm floods the area and pretty much cuts off the building from the
rest of the world. And suddenly, the inhabitants find themselves up
against the living dead, with no chance to escape as the lower levels are
flooded and the water's electrically charged ... What the
film's really good at is placing all its scares right, executing them
beautifully, and never forgetting to maintain suspense and atmosphere.
Furthermore, the film's riddled with interesting and/or fun characters.
And that's also the film's main fault, the film features just too many
characters, many with arcs, for the audience to really care for them,
while jumping back and forth between them doesn't help moving the story
along, so eventually one feels a bit lost. It's still a wild and well-made
horror ride, it just at times really lacks focus.
