Scarlett (Casey Landman) is your typical bubbly 17 year old girl
without a care in the world that can't be instantly cured by a slice of
pizza - and then she finds out she has cancer. Scarlett is shattered,
especially since she already has lost her mother (Jennifer Piech) to
cancer. Scarlett's father does the best he can to help her through this,
and through the painful chemotherapy process, but there's really little he
can do, as Scarlett's whole life, including her social life, changes
drastically, something she, not even an adult yet, is not at all prepared
for ... A very engaging and heart-felt film, especially since
it doesn't have or even try to have any simple answers or builds to a
forced happy ending but just stays with the main character through all the
physical and also mental phases she's going through - which can be painful
at times, also thanks to Casey Landman's strong performance in the lead. A
film that's definitely worth a look - but be warned, this is not a
feelgood movie of any sort.
