Richard Charters (Edmund Burns) escapes from prison - in a case of very
bad timing exactly at the time when evidence is found clearing him of his
murder rep. To make an inconspicuous getaway, Charters travels on Captain
McCall (James Donnelly) boat as stowaway - until he's dioscovered by the
ship's first mate Johnson (Walter Long), who is by chance exactly the man
who's responsible for the murder Charters has been jailed for. So Johnson
would like nothing better than to put Charters in iron - which is
rpevented by the captain's daughter Ann (Molly O'Day), who has fallen in
love with Charters. Eventually, Johnson learns that back on land, he has
been identified as the real killer in Charters' case, so he and several
sailors he trusts, start a mutiny - a mutiny that fails thanks also to
Cahrters. And in the end back on land, Charters is relieved of all
accusations while Johnson is thrown into jail. Entertaining
little movie, even if the plot as a whole is terribly clichéd. Some of
the action aboard the ship's pretty cool though.
