Jenny (Staci-Lyn Charles) and Tim (Michael Wilts) are a young couple
basically very much in love with one another - but their (professional)
life in the city threatens to tear them apart, simply due to lack of
having time for one another at the same time. So they decide to rent a
house in the country to spend a few days just with each other to make up
for the lost time - in the bedroom and everywhere else. There's only one
favour their landlady asks from them, to take a polaroid of themselves,
just for the album of tenants she has accumulated. Jenny looks through
this album, and sees one feature common to all the polaroids of former
tenants - one of the group in each photo has black holes in their eyes'
stead. And though she thinks it's odd, it doesn't really alarm her -
though it better should have as eventually, Tim's eyes in the polaroid
they've taken turn all black, and in real life he changes as well ... Now
basically, this is a nice and well-crafted horror miniature - that's at
the same time nothing to write home about as it simply takes horror tropes
and re-tells them in an admittedly smooth but not all that original way.
So don't expect to be surprised or freaked out - but as far as pure
craftsmanship in both writing and direction go, this one's pretty solid,
as is the cast, actually.
