There is something going on in suburbia: While the men are away in the city to work, the women tend to have affairs, to such an extent that unemployed Lou (W.B.Parker) has an idea: Why not organize a swinger club in which all the members wear masks and cloaks and can shag all they want in happy anonymity. He does so, and before long, the club becomes a raving success.

But who are the costumers ?

There's Lisa (Marla Ellis), who feels neglected by her husband (Joseph Garri) and her lover (Richard Tatro) alike, and who, when not at club meetings, succumbs more and more to drinking.

Then there's Geraldine (Audrey Campbell), who is simply insatiable for sex, and since her husband (Derek Crane) is out most of the time, she has sex with a wide array of men, including Jimmy (Wayne Roberts), the friend of her teenage daughter Kathy (Judy Young).

And then there's of course young Kathy, who was shocked when at the same day Jimmy tried to have sex with her and she found her mother with another man. In her desperation she turned to Yvette (Dyanne Thorne), allegedly Lou's sister, but really his lover. Soon enough, the two women become very friendly and start a lesbian affair - and from here on it's just a small step to joining a swinger club ...

Of course, the whole organisation blows up eventually when on one hand Lisa loses her mind and can#t ahve sex anymore without cloak and mask and on the other hand when Geraldine finds out that her daughter has joined the same club she has - which leaves young Kathy with nothing else to do but not only leave the club and her mother, but even the village, to start somewhere else anew ...

Today this film is mainly marketed on the fact that it features Ilsa Dyanne Thorne and Olga Audrey Campbell, both dirty film icons in their own right, in a film about swinger clubs - which is enough to suggest maximum sleaze. Yet one mustn't forget that this film was made in 1964, and while the film really is about sex and leaves no doubt about it, there is no actual nudity in the film. Plus, since the director of the film is Joe Sarno, the film's emphasis is more on emotional drama than on the sensationalistic aspects of the story, and actually focusses more on the actresses' acting than their charms. now this might make the film sound boring, which in fact it isn't, it's one of Sarno's best-written movies and his generic talent as a director keeps it from getting boring despite long stretches of dialogue.

Pretty good actually, just don't expect smut.
