The death of his wife has hit Jason (Timothy J. Cox) much harder than
he admits to himself. Sure he figures that by just getting himself a new
girlfriend off the internet, he can make up for everything, but at the
same time he fails to notice that his son Frankie (Joseph Di Stefano)
needs attention too. And even at the rare times he finds to actually play
with Frankie, Jason blows it. Then when he has a date with Kaitlin (Monica
Servellon) and his babysitter cancels and he has to bring Frankie, and
Kaitlin lets him know she doesn't like children, Jason thinks he has
totally blown everything - but maybe that's the starting point for
something new to develop ... Fun little movie that much more
than anything (like loss, parenting, coping) is about rediscovering one's
own inner child, all wrapped in a touching but never cheesy story that
actually manages to offer us a peek into the inner child's world, and
carried by strong performances. A movie that makes you think, too - but in
an entirely entertaining way.
