Tim gets fired from his job at Bilbo Bagshot's (Bill Bailey) comicstore - mainly
because he didn't like Star Wars - The Phantom Menace - while his
flatmate Daisy (Jessica Stevenson) is refused her dole when it's found out she
has been on vacation in Asia for 2 months, & to make matters (financially)
worse, Mike (Nick Frost), whom they are subletting their couch, is moving out -
actually upstairs to rent a room in their landlady Marsha's (Julia Deakin)
appartment. Their neighbour, wannabe artist Brian (Mark Heap) meanwhile suffers
from an artist's block since he is in a happy relationship with Twist (Katy
Carmichael). In the end everything is resolved though when Marsha, Brian's
former lover, depresses Brian enough to come over his block, Bilbo asks
Tim to come back when Tim's replacement doesn't like Hawk
the Slayer (which for Bilbo is a religious question), & even Daisy
starts temping at a bookshop ... Though the storytelling in this
episode is not really all that good - too many subplots are amassed that all
have rather disappointing conclusions -, the show as a whole is nevertheless
enjoyable, simply because it manages to stay amusing throughout.
