After Seong Gi-huns's (Lee Jung-jae), which of late also includes loud-mouthed
Han Mi-nyeo (Kim Joo-Ryung), win their round of tug o'war, they build up
barricades in the dormitory should the team of small-fry crook Jang Deok-su's
(Heo Sung-tae) team launch another attack. But Jang Deok-su is too afraid
of treachery among his own men to go to war. In an unrelated story, disgraced surgeon
Byeong-ki (Yoo Seong-ju), who's in league with some of the guards,
harvests the victims of the last game for some more organs - and somehow, detective
Hwang (Wi Ha-joon) has gotten into this mix, being disguised as one of the
guards. Eventually, the surgeon and the guards are found out and shot
dead, only Hwang somehow manages to slip away and actually get his hands
on the files of the organisation - to find proof that his brother has
participated in one of the previous games ...
Really one of the weaker episodes of the series, as it totally falls
into two stories, and while the former about the two teams not
going to war at night is somewhat lacking in excitement, the organ
harvesting subplot is ended about as abruptly as it popped up last
episode. Sure, this episode does work as a build-up for later episodes,
and should work well if you're binge-watching the series, but on its own
it's just a little lacking.
