An Eastern ruler, El Hudat, claims to possess the perfect gunboat and
thus wants his country to join the World Aquanaut Security Patrol.
But when he is about to sign the contracts, news breaks that he has been
ousted from his throne back home - and thus is in no position to sign the
contract. El Hudat is furious and wants his revenge ... but surprisngly
enough not on those who ousted him but on the World Aquanaut Security
Patrol, and so he terrorizes the open seas ... which ultimately leads to a
duel with Stingray, the Parol's super submarine. Troy Tempest, captain of
the sub, soon realizes there is no way to beat El Hudat's boat in a
straight shootout, so he pretends that his sub was sunk by El Hudat's
boat, exits Stingray and climbs aboard the enemy vessel, which he is soon
able to take over singlehandedly (since the gunboat is perfect in
defending itself against submarines, battleships and airplanes but not
against one single man, apparently).
El Hudat is brought before the council of the World Aquanaut Security
Patrol, but sicne the Patrol has no jurisdiction over him, he seems to get
away with a scolding - until news reaches the council that he has been
reestablished in power, upon which he immediately signs the contract for
his land to join the Patrol ... which in turn means that he now falls
under the Patrol's jurisdiction and can be tried and convicted for
terrorism.
One of the better episodes of the series, if mainly for some amazing
model work: The exploding ships and airplanes look way better than in many
a live action film from that era (and better than pretty much all CGI has
to offer in our era, actually). Apart from that, the story is rather tired
routine and not even really thought through. Only the ending offers a nice
twist.
