Underwater king Titan is furious that time and again, supersub Stingray
not only thwarts his evil plans, but the Stingray crew have also stolen
his favourite slave, Marina (back in episode
one, actually) - so he makes up a master plan (that's actually way
too complicated to work): First he sees to it that Troy Tempest, commander
of Stingra, is drugged with some poiwon only he, Titan, has the antidote
for. Then he asks the World Aquanaut Security Patrol, Stingray's
headquarters, for the return of Marina in excnange for the antidote. Of
course, he knows the Patrol as such will turn his demands down, but Marina
herself will return to him anyways, just to save Troy (and it works too).
Being a man of honour, Titan then sends the antidote over ... and now
waits like a spider in its web for Troy and his sidekick Phones to come to
Marina's rescue, letting her scrub the floors in the meantime.
Thing is, Troy and company have long seen through Titan's master plan,
so they don't enter Titan's kingdom in their supersub Stingray but in one
of Titan's own fish-shaped subs ... and of course they manage to free
Marina.
The premise of this episode is way too childish to actually work: Why
on earth would you make up an elaborate plan to take out your enemy if you
have the chance to just take him out at the very start of the plan ? Other
than that, The Master Plan is an average episode of the series,
avoiding to much drama (which the puppets are just not good at), but at
the same time also lacking in action (the strong point of the series).
