Duke Dexter, the biggest pop sensation since ... well, since pop
sensations actually, visits Marineville, headquarters of the World
Aquanaut Security Patrol, and suddenly the high security area is
surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of teen fans - which causes all sorts
of havoc in Marineville as it is.
But that's not all, evil underwater king Titan has learned about Duke
Dexter's visit to Marineville from his surface agent X20, and despite the
fact that he has no idea who Duke Dexter is, he wants him kidnapped and
brought to his realm, figuring he must be someone very important. To this
end, X20 disguises himself as an undercover security officer and manages
to snatch Duke Dexter away from right under the noses of the patrol. The
patrol's supersub Stingray goes after X20 for sure, but breaks down with
something as trivial as a faulty circuit, and instead of saving the pop
idol, they have to do some underwater repairs.
In the meantime, Titan has a chat with Duke Dexter ... and figures the
two of them are on the same side anyways - since Duke, wherever he goes,
causes chaos. And thus, Titan decides to send Duke Dexter back to the
surface and let him do his thing, because if he continues causing chaos as
he does, the surface dwellers will be ready to be invaded in no time ...
By and large, this episode lacks action and impressive miniature work,
the series' strength of course, but yet it isn't too bad, first and
foremost due to its rather ironic approach (Titan thinking a pop singer
helps him in his work really is amusing). Plus, X20's stupid outfit in
this episode really is funny. Period.
