Back in the day, Nick (Harley Wallen) has started the Tails Club, a
mid-range topless strip club with backrooms for you-know-what, mainly to
have a constant supply of booze and pussy, and this somewhat opportunistic
approach has served him fine so far, even if Vikki (Jovie Lyn), his
confidante and sort-of girlfriend, insists he could do much better and
someone is skimming off the liquor. But the club turns a profit, so no big
deal. Then though, one of the dancers, Amber (Kaiti Wallen), is found
o.d.-ed on the club's toilet, and Nick has her body disappear to avoid
trouble. Thing is, Amber was the sister of an ambitious young cop, Alison
(also Kaiti Wallen), and even if she's not officially assigned to the case
by her official (Grover McCants), she starts investigating as she
considers the detective on the case, Jones (Brett Stanfield), not all that
capable. And Alison is one who can cause Nick a lot of problems. But it's
not only that, Amber's mother Angel (Tennille Taraszkiewicz) also has her
own way of finding things out ... A very fine pilot that
promises in equal parts crime and titilation, all woven into a rather
involving story with interesting and colourful characters that are more
than just stereotypes. And taking all this into account, what really gets
one primed for more here is that the episode does have a story arc of its
own, is its own narrative as well of set-up for things to come. And I for
one am sure on the look-out for more.
