A mysterious voice tells a man who wants to obscure his true identity
& calls himself the Texas Rambler (Bill Cody) to save
Billie Conroy (Marie Burton) from a kidnapping attempt, & once that is
achieved the voice tells him to infiltrate Flash Carson's (Earle Hodgins)
gang. The Texas Rambler is much too curious of who is behind the voice to
not do it ...
But why that all ?
Billie Conroy has inherited quite some rich land from her uncle John,
together with mysterious Tom Morrison, whom she has never seen in her life
& who doesn't seem to show up to collect ... yes, you guessed it, Tom
is really the Texas Rambler, but that won't be revealed until the end of
the picture.
For some reason though, Flash Carson is after the land, & is even
willing to pay Billie more than it is worth ... but Billie refuses, since
she - & her uncle's lawyer Higgins (Budd Buster) - thinks there's more
to her land than Flash cares to tell her. Her own lawyer & fiancé
Morrison (Stuart Jones) however is more interested in quick money, &
behind her back even offers Flash his cooperation in another kidnapping
attempt ... for a price.
But Flash isn't one who wouldn't cheat on a crook, so he soon kidnaps
not only her but Morrison too.
Only the Rambler can - & will - save her now !
In the end, after a massive shoot-out, all the baddies are arrested,
the Rambler reveals his true identity, & so does the mysterious voice
... who's no other than uncle john himself who faked his own death to
investigate or have his nephew the Rambler investigate Flash's evil plans.
But what were Flash's evil plans ?
On Uncle John's land there was a rich gold mine only Flash knew of, so
he used every dirty trick - legal or not - to get it ...
& of course uncle John had another agenda as well ... to make tom
the Rambler & Billie fall in love with each other ... which is
achieved at the end of the film !
A B-Western that has a certain cheap charm that slicker, higher
budgeted Westerns from bigger studios just fail to have ... which doesn'T
make it a good film though.
