French fashion designer Francois has developed a new, revolutionary
fabric, and he wants Lady Penelope to present it at a fashion show. But
Lady Penelope, secretly an agent for Interational Rescue, soon has to
notice that some industrial spies try to get their hands on the fabric at
any price - so she suggests a completely secure location for the show: An
experimental aircraft that Brains, International Rescue's resident genius,
has developed. Of course, once aboard the plane and airborne, it turns out
that the industrial spies have gotten onto the ride after all, and now
they are threatening everybody and force the plane to go to the Sahara at
gunpoint. However, it wouldn't be International Rescue's Brains - who
works under the alias Mr Hackenbacker in this one - if he hadn't a plan B:
One of International Rescue's Thunderbiords has to take a shot at the
landing gear, which would make it impossible for the experimental plane to
land in the Sahara, so she has to go to London, her original destination
after all, because that airport is equipped for emergencies ... Still, the
landing is expected to culminate in desaster ... but no, Brains' plane
actually has a way to get rid of its fuel in a backpack airplane just in
time, and despite the missing landing gear, the experimental plane lands
safely and the baddies are all arrested. A mildly amusing
episode mainly for its incredibly far-fetched plot, bot not all that great
on miniatures and special effects, usually the strengths of the show.
