Lady Penelope forces Jeff Tracy, head of International Rescue, to take
a vacation on her sheep farm in Australia, which leaves his eldest son
Jeff in charge of the organisation - and the team of Internatinal Rescue
(all sons of Tracy) soon have an emergency on their hand, when an atom
bomb is test fired above an underwater gas field, which might put a
neighbouring oil rig at risk. The rescue mission of Scott and the boys
seems to be successful, but it leaves Jeff fuming because he argues there
were no lives in any danger ... then though, the gas field starts to
threaten the oil rig with spontaneous eruptions and two foremen of the rig
get caught underwater in a diving bell ... and now it's of course a job
for International Rescue, which Scott as its head handles wonderfully of
course - which even his dad admits ... The framing story of
this episode is dead-boring - you simply could not care less about who's
heading International Rescue, especially since the Tracy boys all seem to
be cut out of one mold (speaking of their characters of course), but there
are some really good special effects in here, like an oil rig collapsing
into the sea while one of the Thunderbirds makes a last-minute start.
Still, it might not be a bad idea to fast-forward through the
dialogue-bits.
