A rocketship bound for Mars has to be carried over a suspension bridge
to reach her launching pad - when disaster strikes and the bridge gives
way to the enormous weight of the rocket. And once the rocket reaches the
riverbed below, somehow her countdown starts, meaning she will go up in
seven hours no matter what - which is especially tragical since the two
astronauts bound for Mars are already aboard, and with out a proper
launching pad, going up in the rocket is pure suicide. The suspension
bridge's crew does everything in their power to free at least the nose of
the rocket from rubble to save the astronauts, but to no avail ... but
fortunately, International Rescue's Brains has somehow infiltrated the
bridge's crew, and he calls in his organisation and its famous
Thunderbirds (including the Thunderbird sub) just in time to save the
astronaut - even though everybody at the bridge thinks he's just a poor
nutcase ... As with most Thunderbirds-episodes,
the action and effects in this one are great for the most part, but the
human drama to carry it all just sucks, because the puppets just can't
show emotions. And at roughly 50 minutes, the episode (again like most)
runs a good half hour too long, too.
