Two men with a movie camera are peeking in on a couple meeting in a
part - to overcome them, kill him, drive a knife into her mouth and later
cut off her legs. Another guy in a park they waterboard before killing
him, and later they drag a 16 year old girl to their basement to have
their "fun" with her ... Now Torture Fetish is
certainly not a short for the faint of heart - and it's not so much that
the on-screen goings-on are that explicit (they in fact aren't), but the
nihilistic attitude of the movie's disturbing for sure, and quite probably
intentionally so: The film doesn't ask for the motives of its
protagonists, doesn't tag on crafted explanations, it just shows what's
happening as is, out of the assailants' first person perspective, this way
denying the audience any kind of pre-fabricated judgment. And this is a
tactic that's sure to disturb a large part of the viewership to the point
of turning off, but is also bound to get those who sit the film through
thinking about what one just saw - which is actually a quite interesting
and fascinating experiment ...
