Naive, innocent, childlike Jamie (Marcia Forbes) is obsessed by her
love for her father (Peter Lightstone), who left her & her mother to
whore around when she was six, & nowadays, the only tokens of his
affection are the toys he regularly sends her. Jamie meanwhile has to
live with her manhating & abusive mother (Fran Warren), so it's
hardly surprising that one day she runs away to live with her boyfriend
& co-worker Charles (Harlan Carey Poe), whom she soon marries. But
her love for her father prevents her from consuming the marriage, which
of course soon leads to conflict, until one day she runs away to New
York City to live with Pearl (Evelyn Kingsley), a friend of hers who
also is a hooker her father visits irregularly. One day when Pearl is
out, her pimp Eddie (Louis Arroyo) seduces Jamie & soon hires her as
his new prostitute. & what do you know, Jamie takes a distinct
liking to the profession, since she, by selling her body, feels ever
nearer to her daddy, & even when her husband comes to take her back,
she makes love to him but refuses to go with him. But then Jamie &
Pearl have a fight & Pearl, furious at Jamie, hooks her up with her
own dad. Jamie, fully aware of who he is, makes love to him, but he, a
typical dirty old man, thinks her childish attitude to be just a game
& is shocked when he, after the sex learns the truth. When he is
getting violent towards her, she throws him out of the window ... &
is left in shock, now even more regressing to her earliest childhood
memories.
This synopsis may sound a lot sleazier than the film actually is, it
does in fact contain very little nudity & comes across more like a
social drama - as which it is quite funny at times (though that might
not have been the intention in the first place).
