Zera's (Christine Dickinson) a troubled young woman, but if there's one
thing in her life she can usually rely on, it's that her best friend
Crystal (Rebecca Dooley) will always do her best to set her straight
again. Only, this time when Zera stops by at Crystal's place for a
sleepover, Crystal has also invited her new friend Maxine (Madeline
Bugeau-Heartt), an overly spiritual being who insists to send Zera on a
trip of self-discovery - only some trips are just destined to go South ... Basically,
Trauma Bond is just a really cool character piece, and one that
borrows from many different directions, including comedy, drama, thriller,
psychedelia and whatnot, but what makes this blend work it's that the
focus always remains on its central story and on the three central
characters that carry it. And a subtle direction that gives the cast their
space to breathe and a trio of strong actresses who properly fill their
roles help make this one pretty cool piece of quite intellitent
entertainment.
