Jack's (Trevor Duke) last relationship ended 12 years ago, and since
then he hasn't really been looking - so no wonder he feels a bit rusty
when it comes to picking up ladies and thus requires the help of a dating
agency , the Undatement Center ... but apparently, the dating world
has changed quite a bit, all the girls he tries to go for ask for his
resumé, his cover letter, his latest health check - and then he's sent
off anyways. So it's no big surprise that Jack soon comes to the
conclusion that dating just sucks. But turns out he has been doing it
wrong, he sat at the wrong side of the dating table - and for a little
premium, the Undatement Center can fix this ... so suddenly, Jack
is in charge of all his dates as if he was the CEO of a big company, and
he's about as much of an asshole, and he begins to like just telling his
potential dates off. He enjoys it, too - but over all of this might have
forgotten what dating's actually about ... Now admittedly, with
a plot like the above, Undatement Center could quite easily have
become a cringeworthy crude comedy, but as it is, this one relies much
more on understatement than on obvious jokes, helped of course by a subtle
directorial effort and a very competent lead actor who manages to remain
at least somewhat likeable even when he's acting like a total asshole. Really
nice, actually!
