Geoffrey (Kuljit Singh) has just found out his wife has been cheating
on him, so his friend Mick (Dean Sills), your typical un-employed and
under-qualified Northern git, convinces him to accompany him to the season
opening of "their" football team. "Their" team meaning
it's Mick's team, Geoffrey isn't at all interested in footie, but does
appreciate Mick's effort to take his mind of things a bit. But Mick isn't
that selfless as he might seem, he actually only took Geoffrey because
Geoffrey paid for the tickets. But once at the stadium, they have to
realize it's a bit devoid of people. Meanwhile back home, Mick's wife
Rosie (Carley Motley) takes some advice from her friend Rebecca (Samantha
Senior) on how to prepare an edible meal for Mick for a change - but once
it's done, Rosie can't resist the temptation to spice it up a bit ... Despite
some humour that's a bit on the very crude side, this is a fun episode of Up
North, thanks to its likeable if deeply flawed characters (thanks
to both good writing and solid cast) and a certain understandment when it
comes to the episode's humour that lets one enjoy the quite humourous
narrative that holds together the jokes as well. Fun, really! And
