Your movie Pareidolia
- in a
few words, what is it about, and what can you tell us about your character in it?
If you see faces, patterns, etc in clouds or a piece of wood etc where there
is actually nothing there, that is pareidolia. In his past Father John
has experienced such sightings.
What did you draw upon to bring your character to life, and how much Graham Cole can we find in father John?
Like any role I take on research, and that is the fun element, I have many
clergy friends, so perhaps there is a little of each them in him… only
they could tell
To what extent can you identify with Pareidolia's
approach to horror?
I truly love horror, so once I read the script I was hooked, giving the
audience time to get ahead of the story, and letting their imagination do
the work!
How did you get involved with the project in the first place, what drew you to it?
I have worked with producer Stuart Morriss [Stuart
Morriss interview - click here] for over 20 years, I need say no more! What can you tell us about Pareidolia's
director Aaron Truss [Aaron Truss interview - click here], and what was
your collaboration like? We
had met many times at The Rob Knox Film Festival, and hoping one day that
we would work together. Aaron was a great director, and it’s easy when
he’s your friend too! Any future projects
you'd like to share? I
never speak about future projects until the contract is signed.
What got you into acting in the
first place, and did you receive any formal training on the subject? I
was 8 years old and going to Saturday
morning cinema, and watching A and B movies, and I also wanted to
have an affect on an audience, as I observed my fellow young cinema goers. I think most people will remember
you for your impressive 25 year run on the series The Bill - so do
talk about doing that series for a bit? The
best way to talk about my time on The Bill is at a Misty Moon The Bill
Reunion, you get to hear us talk about our fabulous time we had and ask
all the questions you have always wanted to know. I was
humbled to do all my own stunts on the show, including all the car chases,
having raced cars for 50 years I trained with the Metropolitan Police
Driving College at Hendon. we
shot The Bill on one camera, so me always being behind the wheel of Sierra
One, the director could put the camera anywhere, as they didn't have to
worry about doubles. I adored
my time on The Bill, and will talk for hours about it… it is true
television history.
Any other film
and TV work of yours you'd like to talk about?
