Franz (Helmut Fischer) is tasked with investigating whether or not
Munich has its own mafia - something he gladly combines with one of his
favourite pastimes, taking out pretty ladies for dinner (and of course
maybe more), this time to Italian restaurants. Dolly (Dolly Dollar) is
Franz's new flame, but there's still Elli (Gisela Schneeberger) from last
episode whom he hasn't gotten rid of who torpedoes the
relationship for her own sake - and Franz is too driven by his sex drive
to not fall for Elli again. Still, Franz's investigations impress his
superior (Gustl Bayrhammer) enough to suggest him for a promotion to head
of homicide - much to his dismay ... and the dismay of his wife Annette
(Ruth-Maria Kubitschek), who has had enough of her husband's escapades and
persuades a friend of hers, a prominent doctor (Walter Sedlmayr), to make
Franz fail his medical. And so instead of being promoted, Franz is sent
into early retirement ... Another fun episode that, just like
the first
episode successfully subverts German cop and crime whos clichés
(something the series would gradually move away from over its course)
without ever going direct parody, instead telling an entertaining story
revolving around its likeable central characters that despite having been
made almost 40 years ago still resonates today - and is rather hilarious
at that.
