Rich couple Marina (Marina Lotar) and husband (Joe Mignano) have sex
when they hear a knock at the door. Husband opens ... and is stabbed to
death. Enter Sonia (Sonia Bennett), who has no problems at all to bring
Marina under her hypnotic control, then she and her androgynous sidekick
(Mimi Losy) have sex with her. They then use Marina to lure her friends to
her place, whom they make their sex slaves, and occasionally they murder
them, too, without much rhyme or reason. Marina even serves one of them as
dinner to her sidekick ... Eventually, Sonia even murders Marina, but
then returns her to life as a zombie ... and zombie Marina is even allowed
to have sex (!). Eventually, one of Sonia's victims though regains his own
free will and wants to strangle her to death ... when Sonia wakes up - she
is now the maid of Marina and her hubby, and they both have the habit of
humiliating and insulting her, just for the fun of it. So Sonia eventually
decides to have her revenge, and one night, when Marina and her man have
sex, she knocks on the door and ... A very weird hybrid of
supernatural horror (with zombies) and (hardcore) sex movie - a
combination co-director Joe D'Amato has tried his hands on time and again
during the late 1970's and early 80's, with varying degrees of success. Orgasmo
Esotico is without a doubt one of his lesser efforts, as the horror
and the sex elements never properly click, the sex seems to be a bit too
morbid to tittilate the audience (partly probably because the film takes
itself way too seriously), the horror scenes don't seem horrific enough
since each and every one seems to end in an orgasm, and the (very feeble)
basic storyline refuses to make too much sense. At best a footnote in
D'Amato's weird and uneven filmography.
