Deep space, the mining ship Red Dwarf: All our heroes are still in
prison, but Lister (Craig Charles) has an appeal going for him, and allwho
are like him, but it is based on good behaviour ... and now his cellmate
Rimmer (Chris Barrie) has to look after it that Lister behaves.
Robot Kryten (Robert Llewellyn) meanwhile has been put into the women's
ward of the prison, because he has no penis (after all, he's a robot). But
when he tells everybody about the hardships of being locked up with the
women, like having to shower with them for hours on end, this gives Kill
Crazy (Jake Wood), one of the convicts an idea: Why not use Kryten as a
hidden camera and transmit his exploits in the women's shower on prison TV
?
Kryten is soon reprogrammed to do just that, but Lister and Rimmer are
shocked - not because it is immoral or because they would betray their
good friend and companion Kachanski (Chloe Annett), but because it would
endagner the appeal.
Lister tries to talk sense into Kryten, but instead of succeeding he
just falls out with Kachanski. Ultimately though, the women find out about
Kryten's dirty tricks, and have him re-assigned to the men's ward. But
Kryten's career as television maker has not ended yet, and soon he sets up
Lister to lay waste to the quarters of an officer ... only to then tell
him that it was the officer responsible for his appeal, and Rimmer and
Lister are hard-pressed to set everything right again - all live on prison
TV ...
Finally, Lister's appeal got through - but to Rimmer's greatest dismay,
it was not about getting out of prison as such, but just about strings for
Lister's guitar - and Rimmer hates Lister's guitar-playing.
It might not be the greatest epsiode of the series, but any story that
has Rimmer and Lister as moralizers having to fight smut together
can't be all bad ... and this one isn't.
