The Red Dwarfers - the last human Lister (Craig Charles), the Cat
evolved to a humanoid Cat (Danny John-Jules) and the android Kryten
(Robert Llewellyn) - stumble over a dimensional rift, & when entering
it meet the Red Dwarfers from another dimension - the last human Kochanski
(Chloe Annett)(who is also Lister's ex), the after life-hologram Lister,
Kryten & Cat. Somehow, Kochanski & the after death Lister have hit
it off again, but of course can't have children, so Kochanski asks this
dimensions Lister to fill an in vitro tube up with sperm (even if Lister
would have preferred to fill her up directly ...), but then somehow the
rift is attacked, & Kochanski winds up being stuck in this dimension -
even if she doesn't care too much about this Lister, the life one, and
Kryten gets jealous because of her.
Eventually, Kochanski & Kryten find a way back to her own dimension
... while Lister finds out that the child he has just fathered (you know,
the in vitro business) will eventually wind up to become - himself, so his
girlfriend will become his mum & he will become his own father,
blabla.
He tells Kochanski only when she is almost back in her own dimension,
& spontaneously she decides to come back to the life Lister, even if
that means risking her life ...
In the end, Lister travels back 13 million years, to the date of his
birth, & hides his baby-self in a box (with the label Ouroboros,
hence the title) under the pooltable where he will soon be found.
Chris Barrie has a small guest appearance in a flashback scene.
Big WHAT ?
The story doesn't make any sense to me, it's totally lacking character
motivation ... but what's worse, it's not even funny.
