On their way to pay a visit to their friend Cherokee Jake (Budd
Buster), who claims to have found oil in the region, Ken (Ken Maynard) and
Happy (Billy Griffith) save the life of Jim Radford (Joseph W.Girard) from
an outlaw attack, and soon learn that the region has been plagued by
outlaws for a month or so - and that ake has gone missing when the attacks
started. Ken, who has fallen in love with Radford's daughter (Joan
Barclay) promises to investigate ... but soon all the evidence seems to
point at Radford being the head of the outlaws - which Ken refuses to
believe. Finally, Ken and Happy manage to track down the outlaws to
their hideout, where they hold Jake captive - and Ken figures, the best
way now would be to slip a note to all those suspected to be in cahoots
with the outlaws saying "Come to the hideout quickly", and
whoever follows the invitation is the outlaws' boss - and to no one's real
surprise the main baddie of the piece turns out to be the local banker
(Kenneth Harlan), whom Ken can stop just before he kills Jake. Routine
cheaply made B-Western, not too bad, but little to really get excited
about: The story is predictable, the action is unspectacular, and Maynard
is as wooden as ever. Still, there's much worse about.
