Your upcoming film Kung Fu and Titties - in a few words, what is it about (apart from the obvious), and what can you tell us about your character in it?

I play Cynthia, the girlfriend of a wannabe MMA fighter. I get kidnapped by an insane god of an alternate universe because he thinks I am Raine Brown, with whom he is obsessed.

What can you tell us about your approach to your character, and what did it take in terms of preparation?

Well Cynthia isn’t the nicest girl, so I just channeled my inner bitch, LOL.

Seriously though, I first memorized the lines, figure out my surroundings and practiced my martial arts moves. Since Cynthia is kidnapped and alone trying to figure out where she is and how to escape most of the time, I just had to pretend I was in a D&D game. It was pretty fun.

How did you get involved with Kung Fu and Titties in the first place, what drew you to the project?

Well first of all, the title. I saw it in my casting notices and thought to myself ‘oh this ought to be good…’, and it was. So good in fact that I submitted and went to the audition. At the callback I was offered the lead role of Cynthia. I read the script and I couldn’t have been more excited. I laughed my ass off!

When a film's called Kung Fu and Titties, most people probably assume you were hired mainly for the second part of the title, but you actually do have a background in martial arts, right? And I assume you also did most of your own stuntwork on the film. Would you like to elaborate on that?

with stunt choreographer

Karl thekungfu Guy

Yes, I do have a physical background. I studied karate and actual kung fu. I was also taught numerous moves from several different forms while in USMC training. I was actually supposed to have this major fight scene but due to the snow storm we lost more than half a day, so it was cut. I’m pretty sad about it, b/c I have done my own stunts in the past and really wanted to do them again.

At least for someone who wasn't on set, a movie called Kung Fu and Titties sounds like an awful lot of fun to make. What can you tell us about the actual on-set atmosphere?

Ha! Lots of humor and joking! Lots of booby jokes LOL! Nobody had a problem with anything (except maybe the cold or the snow LOL). Everyone got along like a little family. It was awesome filming at the barn location. Robin Corneby was so hospitable to us all. She even made us a cake at the end.

A few words about your director Joseph McConnell [Joseph McConnell interview - click here], and what was your collaboration like?

Joe has a great sense of humor! He’s very easy to get along with. He takes suggestions and lets his actors play around with the scene and script. Wardrobe was totally our call as well. He really lets us have our freedom to create and explore our characters.

What can you tell us about the rest of your cast and crew?

Everyone really got into his or her character(s). Each person is so distinct in his or her own way and so important to the script regardless of the size of the part. Everyone really worked together and fed off of each other to create some great comedic moments. Several cast members worked on some improv, which made some scenes even better.

Any idea yet when and where the film will be released, tentatively?

I do know it will be done and premiering in March of 2012, but I don’t know the exact date quite yet.

Scrooge in the Hood

Should there ever be a Kung Fu and Titties 2, would you be on board (and is something like that already in the plans, come to think of it)?

I am not aware of a sequel, but I would LOVE to be a part of it!

Any (other) future projects you'd like to talk about?

Well, first I’m proud to announce that one of my previous films, Witch’s Brew from Midnight Studios, won awards at the Killer Film Festival this past November. On December 10th I have Scrooge in the Hood from Boston Film Family premiering in Arlington, Mass.

Also from Boston Film Family we are in pre production for the webseries Boston Massacre.
