Track 3: With the city threatened with quarantine, those who
have not yet caught the deadly virus try to get out with the last,
people like Sam (Kelsey Crouch) and her younger sister Christie
(Allison Winn). Thing is, there are only five tickets left for the
train, and desparate people will do anything to save their hide ...
- Humorist: He (David Johnson) might not be a very good clown
and tends to frighten children, but his pranks at least manage to
distract a teenaged boy (Chase Bolnick) from his parents fighting ...
- Sunset: A couple (Liam Mitchell, Barbara Bleier) in the
twilight of their lives have their very own way to await nuclear
annihilation ...
- Just Short of Sidekick: An ex-con turned school janitor (Rich
Graff) strikes an unusual friendship with Cody (Chase Bolnick), a boy
whose mum has died and who suffers from paternal neglect. The
friendship goes so far as to him making Cody his "superhero
sidekick" - but sperheroing sure isn't as easy as he expected it
to be ...
- A Thin Layer of Ice: Brothers Chris and Thomas have
both made it in the filmworld, each on his own. Now they want to work
together - but to be able to do that they have to first overcome a
severe case of sibling rivalry ...
- A Stranger's Confession: A young man (Tyler Gattoni) braces
for a conversation with his father in which he plans to tell him he
has dropped out of law school to become a writer, and along the way
has encounters with several strangers - fathers, sons, kindred spirits
- who inform what he'll say to his dad ...
- Midnight Catch: Young James drops into a random bar for a
drink, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible - but there's another
customer, Cole, who just won't leave him be. But is it because Cole is
in desparate search of company, or does he have other motives? Also,
there's more to James than meets the eye, and that "more"
isn't necessarily good ...
A collection of shorts from filmmaker Jamison M. LoCascio shot over the
course of several years (the earliest being from 2013), this is a very
eclectic mix when it comes to genre, ranging from comedy to drama to
doomstay story to crime flick (and quite a few genres inbetween), but what
holds the film together is on one hand the assured hand with which all
these stories are told, on the other that they're all, some to a more some
to a lesser degree, about the condition of human nature, serving as
somewhat of a mirror to the spectator - and thus, each episode hits its
spot in its own way, making this a very engaging and worthwhile collection
of stories.
