When Robin Hood (Richard Greene) learns that two French diplomats (John
Stuart, John Longden) are planning to come to Nottingham to offer Prince
John their support, he has them derouted to an abandoned castle where he
puts up a charade - with himself in the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham
- to prove the inadequacy of Prince John and his men to them. When the
real Sheriff (Alan Wheatley) has the castle surrounded though, it's the
Queen Mother (Jill Esmond), who helps out on Robin's behalf. The
scenes of Robin impersonating the Sheriff are (slightly childish) fun, but
as a whole, the episode is nothing great.
