Mark (Jordan Pope) has been in a terrible car accident, and he has
suffered from partial amnesia ever since. But fortunately for him, his
loving fiancée Julie (Gabby Gutt) and her father (Dean Lewis) have taken
him in to nurse him back to health and make him remember again. But
however hard he tries, and despite all the stories Julie tells him about
their past together, he can't recall a thing. And the dreams he's having
don't at all comply with Julie's stories. And really, the more Julie and
her father try to acommodate him, the more he feels there's something off.
It all comes to a head when Mark opens a door-to-door salesman, Rick
(Anthony Roman), who recognizes him as his best friend from high school -
only under a different name, and from a school he according to Julie has
never attended. Mark wants to learn more from Rick, but then he is
murdered, and when Mark tries to press Julie for answers, her dad turns up
with a gun ... A film that definitely keeps you guessing,
throwing many unexpected twists and turns in the viewer's way. It works
quite so well though because it tells its story in a clever way and
features well fleshed out and relatable characters, brought to life by a
small but solid ensemble cast. And an atmospheric and at times
dreamlike directorial effort of course also helps to make this one pretty
cool piece of genre cinema.
