It should have been the easiest of jobs for small fry crooks Francis
(Samuel Evan Horowitz) and Danny (Jett Jansen): In and out in five, no
security on site, and everything has been checked to the letter by their
informant Stevie B. But as our heroes drive up to the location, it turns
out the easiest jobs can be doomed from the start, including but not
limited to the fact that Stevie B lies dead in the trunk of their getaway
car. And how are things to get any better from there ... In a
way, a film as basic as they come, the "action" is actually
(mostly) limited to two people talking in a car, which much of the actual
plot actually only suggested rather than spelt out in bold letters - but
poignant dialogue keeps one glued to the film, as do of course very solid
central performances, while the directorial effort gives the actors all
the room they need to breathe while still keeping things visually
interesting throughout. And the result is just a nice and welcomely
unusual crime thriller that well deserves a watch.
