After losing his best buddy Brett (Anthony De Longis) on a mission,
super-duper agent Jaguar (Joe Lewis) goes into seclusion with his Sensei
(Woody Strode), until his boss Ann (Barbara Bach) reactivates him to chase
down mysterious international drug runner Esteban, who wants to control
the worldwide drug business. So Jaguar travels around the world to collect
clues leading to Esteban (and meeting many guest stars including Donald
Pleasence, John Huston, Capucine and Christopher Lee in the process). But
wherever he goes, be it the Middle East, South America, Hong Kong, Madrid, Rome, Macao
or Tokyo, Jaguar steps into and escapes a foolproof death trap until his
chase takes him to Belmonte Castle in Spain, where Esteban has organized a
gala dinner for his customers. Hear, Jaguar learns that Esteban is
actually his believed dead best buddy Brett, and the two fight it to the
death (guess whose death), while the authorities arrest all of Esteban's
guests. Silly little action flick that tries its best to look
like a James
Bond movie, but totally lacks the flair and the humour to
succeed. What remains is just a succession of chase, fight and action
scenes in exotic locations, supposed to be carried by kickbox champ Joe
Lewis, who might be more than capable of handling the action aspects of
the story, but he totally lacks charisma to give his character any depth
at all and to keep the audience interested in the process. Really not
worth your while.
