A woman (Jessica Carradero), who has willingly given up her old,
"normal" lifestyle for an eccentric yet secluded life with her
lover/seducer, questions her life choices ... ... and ok, for
the proper context of this monologue it might help to be familiar with
writer/director Mike Messier's novel and stageplay A
Distance from Avalon: When the Dying and the Dead Reunite, as the
whole vampire background of the source material is at best hinted at here.
But even without that context, this is a fascinating short to watch, as
not only has Mike Messier a way with words when it comes to monologues,
Jessica Carradero also delivers a strong performance, and the film's
imagery alone, full of weird backgrounds and deliberately confusing green
screen work, is fascinating in itself, making this a rather trippy watch.
