An all-female witches coven and a group of Ghristian priests are
battling over possession of the all-powerful Dagger of Destziny,
exemplified in a number of stories:
- Mallick's Dreamlady: Mallick (Jimmy Drain) is not really good
at picking up women, so when his dream lady (Leah Saxon) shows up at
the bar he's a regular at the bar he's a regular at, he trusts a
mysterious bartender (Mike Apple) to make him win her over using some
magic ...
- Hiike: He's (Jimmy Drain) almost ready to propose to her
(Morgan Weaver), but then she leaves him, tired of waiting ...
- Abashed: They (Cassie Kelso, Mark Mook) are breaking up, and
not exactly on the best of terms - which is nothing really a bit of
black magic can't make worse ...
- The Initiation of Professor Kimmer: Newby professor Kimmer
gradually falls for his student Starr (Luba Bocian), despite being
happily worried to Jamie (Emily Absher). And Starr's more than happy
to trigger his urges - with more than sinister motives ...
- Cadaver: Young Peggy (Jodi Lynn Thomas, voiced by Ashe
Medina) would do anything to be trained by master dancer Beedham
(Caustic Scifidelic)- but then things go so horribly wrong that
witchcraft appears to be the only way out - but even witchcraft comes
at a price ...
- Meet Michael: As are many kids, Gaylen's (Mara Davala) afraid
of the boogieman, enough so to make her parents worried - to an extent
that they hire an exorcist ...
- Fate Upside Down: The fight for the Dagger of Destiny
goes into its final round, and it seems the witches are to triumph
over the priests - but at what price ...
A very nice anthology that like many movies of its ilk explores many
approaches to the horror genre from the dead serious to the hokey to the
intentionally campy, and makes it a point to also go experimental with a
few of the segments, all amounting to a rather enjoyable stew that has at
least something in store for everybody, with all segments being of pretty
high quality. In all, a fun horror ride for sure!
