Drug Czar Nicolas (David Labrava) is furious, because someone has
stolen a small portion of his new, super pure meth out of his lab, meth
made after so novel a formula that it hasn't even hit the streets yet. And
if this meth should fall into the hands of the competition, they might
recreate it and that would mean Nicolas would lose market supremacy.
Nicolas is quick though to find out who has stolen the meth and who has
bought it, so he sends his best man, Dean (Eric Etebari), after the buyer
... The buyer is 18 year old Cody (Rahart Adams), a (very) small fry
pusher who doesn't even know what he has bought, and rather than
recreating it he just tries to keep his head above water by doing a deal
here and there. And besides, he's got other problems right now, like his
prostitute mother Jewel (Krista Allen), who out of the blue tries to make
up with him after having abandoned him all the years back, or his new
girlfriend Michelle (Rachel Alig), who like his mother is a streetwalker.
And then at a party, Nicholas and Michelle are attacked by a gang of armed
thugs who want his drugs - but the thugs are all shot dead by Dean who
helps Cody and Michelle escape the scene and then takes them under his
wing ... because unbeknownst to Nicolas he's actually Cody's uncle -
something so unexpected not even Cody knows about this. Dean takes Cody
and Michelle to a safe place, a place though that's more of a fortress, as
Dean knows Nicolas will send someone else, and soon, to finish Dean's job.
And Nicolas indeed does, tasking his second-in-command Axel (Francis
Capra) with Cody's demise, and sending not only a few thugs with him but
also "the sisters" (Eva Mauro, Cathy Baron), two seductive
hitwomen who use their charms as well as their guns to get what they want.
That all said, Cody and Michelle ought to be rather on the safe side with
Dean, who knows about the inner workings of Nicolas' organisation - but
how about all the people they love, starting with Cody's mother ... Veteran
actor and fan fave Vernon Wells plays an extra stinky (literally) john in
this one. A rather intense drug thriller that picks up speed
early on and then never lets its tension go, thanks to a cleverly
structured, no-frills script that shows heart and places its action scenes
at all the right moments, and a very tight directorial effort that's heavy
on suspense but doesn't shy away from violence. And of course, a strong
ensemble cast playing well fleshed-out characters doesn't hurt one bit
either in making this one cool genre effort.
