In the future, not even death comes for free - not anymore since it was
discovered that even the clinically dead still have some energy residue to
exploit ... so if you owe money to the banks, your body and mind will be
exploited - unless of course you've got death insurance, which is pretty
much the only thing that keeps your body from being desecrated after the
end of your natural life. Vincent (Clemens Schick) is a death insurance
salesman, and one of the best there is - but then he's supposed to take
down Lisa (Lena Lauzemis), an anti-death exploitation activist ... and he
falls in love with her and grows more and more sympathetic to her cause -
to a point where he helps her and other activists to cause a blackout and
raid the central dead body storage. He risks it all in a move that might
cost him everything he has worked for - and too bad then that his employer
is anticipating every move he makes to take the activists down ... Stille
Reverven is a quite intelligent piece of anti-utopian science fiction,
very much reminiscent of 1970s paranoia thrillers like Soylent Green,
based on a lovably original premise, subtly directed and featuring a
competent ensemble cast - all of which adds up to a very cool experience!
