Your upcoming film Axemen at Cutter's Creek 3: Absolution -
in a few words, what's it going to be about, and what can you tell us
about your character in it?
Without spoiling anything... my character is multi-faceted with a deep
pool of emotions inside of her. You don't see much of her to start, but she
sure is a resilient figure in the story. I truly believe she'll be a fan
favorite! The storyline and my character perfectly intertwine to make the
audience feel connected on a level that will almost tear at your core. This
story isn't just about a serialkiller with a lot of gore to just go enjoy at
the theater, this story will make you want to go home and hug your family. What will you draw upon to
bring your character to life, and how much Hannah Hueston can we find in
Rebecca? A lot...? You may look at my past films and see a whole different Hannah
playing those characters. This is a role where I finally get to dive into a
more emotional side of Hannah, which, to be very honest, is who I am. I have
so many feelings. I have been through a whole lot more than people may see
on the outside, and getting to tap into some pain to bring into the
character of Rebecca may be hard, but is truly a blessing. In the
storyline, Rebecca has a sister who is more free, more boisterous, and more
open-hearted. Although I do not have a sister, I see her as the younger
version of myself, taking care of her like she's the "inner child"
of myself, and the now-hardened Rebecca needs to take care of. How did you get involved with the project in the
first place, what drew you to it? Actually, I was approached by
director Joston Theney [Joston
Theney interview - click here] to audition for the role. I didn't
know too much about the project in the beginning but I sure was intrigued!
With Axemen at Cutter's Creek 3: Absolution
being a slasher movie, is that a genre at all dear to you, and to what
extent could you identify with the film's approach to the genre?
Growing up, I was SO obsessed with Buffy
the Vampire Slayer. And when I say "obsessed", I mean, age 10,
whittling my own vampire stakes and
hunting in the nearby cemetery-obsessed. Which led to my interest
in blood and gore as I got older. Halloween was my favorite, and exploring the
movie-making process of anything within that genre had me enthralled. Coming
into my acting career, I started with thrillers and moved my way into
slashers. I want to be an award-winning scream queen because we need more
awards in that area. What can you tell us about Axemen at Cutter's Creek 3: Absolution's
director Joston Theney, and what has your collaboration
been like so far?
Just a kind human who knows how to create a dynamic story! When I first
auditioned, he told me I was the only one who played the character more
tenderly and less harshly. Knowing that a director can see your talent with
praise and supports your direction with the character while still
being authentic to the storyline is so important to me.
Axemen at Cutter's Creek 3: Absolution is currently running a fundraiser, anything you want to say to support
the campaign?
If you are someone interested in supporting this campaign, then it
is definitely something I know you'll be proud to have your name attached
to. The distance this film can take in the industry could be inspiring
for the way horror is being written. It can create its own sub-genre of
horror, I think will be incredibly popular in years to come. You not only get
to be a part of a film that will rock you to your core, but get some
incredible perks while you're at it. I myself have some amazing things I offer if you donate.

Any future projects you'd like to share?
Yes! I had the absolute honor to be part of the cast for another
upcoming horror movie starring some powerhouse actors like Gigi Gustin. The
movie is called Stiletto, directed by Samuel Gonzalez jr. I play
an exotic dancer in this 80s homage slasher with a rollercoaster of emotions
and high-octane horror. We had an incredible SPFX team and the same
brain behind the making of the Grabber's mask in The Black Phone created
our killer's mask. It's an exciting, beautifully colored, and wildly dramatic
slasher you'll want to be first in line to see, coming this year. What got you into acting in the first place, and did you receive any formal
training on the subject? To be honest, I haven't received as much training as a lot of
up-and-coming actors I've seen. I started my performer journey as a dancer. I
got my start in the industry dancing for live stage performances, music
videos, and TV and film. It seemed more realistic even though deep down my
heart knew I wanted to be an actor. I have taken a few classes here and there
but I do a lot of one-on-one coaching for the auditions I receive.
What can you tell us about your
filmwork prior to Axemen at Cutter's Creek 3: Absolution? My film work is a bit all over the map! I would say anything worth your
watch would be my upcoming film, Stiletto. If you want a
laugh or two, check out Airplane 2025, a spoof film on the classic
Airplane movie. If you just want to see my face and watch me dance, you can
check out the plethora of cheerleading thriller movies I've done for Lifetime
and Tubi, haha. How would you describe yourself as an actress, and some of your techniques to
bring your characters to life? A lot of directors have described me as a natural actor. I play
from a place inside of me that feels like home. I can create an easy
space for me to perform from that feels like second nature. Don't get me
wrong, my character acting is quite an enjoyable thing to watch! I love a good character
where I can play the psycho, the creature, or the comedic weirdo. But... in the
places I feel the most accomplished, it's when I get to play a character from
the depths of my natural self. That can be a variety of things though... you'd
be surprised how natural a mean character can be! As long as it's not campy.
Actresses (and indeed actors) who inspire you? Easily, I can say from childhood, my inspiration was Sarah Michelle
Gellar. I think I took some of her mannerisms into adulthood, I watched Buffy
the Vampire Slayer so much. Another would be Cameron Diaz, I loved action comedy. It is
ultimately the genre I want to do the most! So Charlie's Angels was put
on repeat. As I began to find myself in adulthood, I found my comedy was
played very much like Leslie Mann, so I found inspiration in her.
Honestly, I may find inspiration with actors I look up to who are
more successful in the business to build my characters but truly, it's the
actors around me I draw inspiration from. It's my scene partners, it's my
colleagues, it's my directors and my friends. The actors who are working their
ASS OFF (excuse my language) to succeed every single day in this tougher than
tough industry. Those are the people who inspire me. Your favourite movies?

Charlie's Angels, all the Scream movies, The Prestige, and a recent
favorite... Mickey 17. ... and of course, films you really deplore?
Oh goodness... as a person who really just loves movies and goes into
every single one with an open mind and open heart to everything, it's hard
for me to "deplore" something I know someone worked really hard to
create, and I hate to put down a creator. If I disapprove of it, it's because
it hurt animals, put down a minority group, or abused their actors. Your website, social media, whatever else?
