Engineer Ferrero (Enzo Bottesini) comes to one of these paradise island
in the Caribbean to work for a gold mining company. He soon falls for
local girl Janine (Laura Gemser), who might be a devout Christian, but she
also has no hesitations to bath nude in public and she jumps into bed with
Ferrero pretty much right away. Everything seems to be perfect it seems,
but then Janine disappears, and Katia (Olga Bisera) is a bit too willing
to take her place right away. But Janine's disappearance was actually
plotted by Ferrereo's host Chaval (Venantino Venantini), who has sabotaged
Ferrero's work from day one and who wants to get his hands on the gold
Ferrero's supposed to mine. Eventually, Ferrero finds out Chaval is not
just your regular bad guy but also a voodoo high priest, and Katia is one
of his followers. Ferrero manages to track down Chaval to his island, but
he uses his voodoo magic to keep Janine out of Ferrero's reach ... until
Ferrero finds out the source of Chaval's voodoo powers is his violin (!) -
which he breaks, upon which he and Janine are free to go. The
one interesting thing about this film is that it's Laura Gemser's debut
feature, and she doesn't disappoint and gets naked a lot. Apart from that,
this movie doesn't ahve much going for it, it's a very boring piece of
erotica that starts out as a light comedy with the voodoo elements kicking
in rather late and rather unconvincingly. What the film lacks is any kind
of real narrative build-up, tension or at least atmosphere, it's pretty
much just naked girls on a paradise island, with some unnecessary
story in between - and there are much better or at least funnier films of
that kind out there.
