Several people in an appartment-building watch a stupid horror movie about demons. Of course
the demons come to life pretty soon, exit the tv-screen & start
killing people - or worse, biting them, turning them into demon
themselves. There are some human-demon-fights in the building's
fitness-studio, garage & roof, until finally, in the neighbouring
tv-studio that was transmitting the demon-movie in the first place,
the demons can be destroyed once & for all.
On the credit side, if you want to see a movie about demons going on
a gory rampage, this movie pretty much delivers the goods, on the debit
side though, there's nothing more to it. The story itself borders
the idiotic, the characters are so not fleshed-out that to call them
one-dimensional caricature would actually be a compliment, &
Lamberto Bava's direction is so devoid of atmosphere and suspense one
actually wonders how he got started in horror in the first place
(alright, so it was his famous father Mario). As for the actors, where
does Lamberto Bava find these totally untalented & furthermore
extremely bland people (& he did so repeatedly, see Demoni or
A Ceno col Vampiro/Dinner with a Vampire) ? The style of
the sets & the costumes is typically mid-80's, so that might be a
tad hard to swallow for any aesthete, but when you see the demons roam
the hallways in fancy 80's outfits ... well, at least that's a laugh.
